How it works:
No deposit is due upfront for website creation.
It starts with a conversation to gather requirements and define scope for the project. If there’s a Panera near you, coffee’s on me, let’s talk web design!
I quote by the Job and not the hour except for photography or writing copy, those 2 services are based on an hourly rate. You will have a clear understanding of deliverables along with next steps before the Project begins. Here’s an example of the process.
What I will need from you:
A clear understanding of your business, what you want the site to do for you?
The below items if you have them:
- Colors
- Logo
- Type-set Copy
- Photographs and Graphics
- Market Research - only if you have it
It’s okay if you do not have these items. After I have a clear understanding of your business and needs, we'll build them together or I will work with a copywriter and photographer as needed to build your content.
Logo creation is an additional $150 and you will receive both a vector and png file
Photography – $125 per hour with unlimited usage of the images
Copy creation – $60 per hour
The quote will have a list of deliverables such as:
- Logo
- Yearly or one-time Web hosting
- Registrar domain name
- Build website, specifics will be listed
- Proto-type available Date along with a Go-live Date
- Maintain a monthly back-up copy
- Monthly maintenance and security updates
- Create 5 email accounts
- 5 hours of training
- 4 hours of updates and minor content changes after Go-Live
Pricing:
Although I can’t give you an exact price without evaluating your specific needs, I can give you a clear understand of how your quote is built. The below information is meant to give you a clear understanding of the process:
For a small site with approximate 1 – 10 pages with all content provided including photography, logo and infographics, basic design for a customized template, optimized to improve organic web search, maximum of 50 images starts at $485 for the site not including domain name and 1 year hosting. The price increases from there based on specific needs.
Web-hosting can be your responsibility or I can take care of it for you. Approximate cost for hosting is $60 per year based on the size and needs of your site. Yearly domain registration is approximately $15 per year for 1 domain name.
Time-frame:
This will vary depending on how quickly you return requested information and any changes made after scope is defined but the average turnaround is 2-5 weeks.
Once the site is nearly complete, a link with password, will be provided for testing and a final round of changes and edits. Once the site is approved, payment is due in full and the site will be migrated to your domain name. If you are using services such as photography or content creation, payment for those services require a $200 deposit prior to creation.
All sites include maintenance (back-up copy of the site, security and basic updates) and 4 hours of minor content updates to guarantee you’re satisfied with your new site. A 5 hour training session (to be used all at once or as needed) will help you get started updating your site.
Not happy with our service? No problem, simply sign an agreement not to use any of the content, photography or graphics provided and the site will not be launched, no payment will be required and all deposits refunded.
